Homemade Peanut butter

Aggiornamento: 26 gen 2021

Peanuts are rich in natural fatty acids and antioxidants, such as Omega 3 and Omega 9, which help prevent cell damage and cardiovascular problems. It also contains vitamins E, B, folic acid and minerals such as manganese, essential nutrients for strengthening the immune system and muscle development in dogs. For this reason, their consumption can be especially beneficial for puppies, who are in full growth, as well as older dogs, who need to prevent muscle wasting and other common symptoms of old age. Despite these benefits, it should be noted that peanuts are also distinguished by their high calorie content, which is why I recommend limited consumption during the day. I usually give Hiro a teaspoon of peanut butter a day when I prepare it.

TIMES: 10 minutes

INGREDIENTS

500 gr - peanuts

linseed oil as required

(you can also use other types of pet friendly oil)

TOOLS

- Mixer

INSTRUCTIONS

If you do not find the peanuts already shelled and unsalted you can use the ones with the roasted shell as in my case.

  1. Peel the peanuts.

  2. Add them to a mix and blend them until you get a grainy texture.

  3. Add the oil slowly until you get the consistency of a cream.

  4. Pour the peanut butter into a jar or airtight container.

CONSERVATIONS

it can be kept in the refrigerator for about a month. being a homemade product and that does not contain preservatives, before giving it to the dog, check that no mold has formed on the surface.

Here is a short video with all the steps:
